We went there by bus and it took us about twenty minutes. Tianyi Pavilion Museum is not only the most ancient private library in China, but also the most ancient one that is still existing in Asia. Thousands of valuable books have been preserved in Tianyi Pavilion Museum. The pattern is like the garden of Suzhou. It was so quiet in it. There is an exhibition of the mah-jongg. It shows the history of the mah-jongg. We could see some kinds of mah-jongg. Some are made in China, some are made in Japan and some are made in USA. All of those are so precious. We were surprised.

I hadn’t seen many kinds of the mah-jongg. It was so interesting. After 2 hours we left Tianyi Pavilion Museum and walked along the Moon Lake. This lake is like the West Lake in Hangzhou, but it’s smaller than it. Some old people do exercise near the lake. It made me think of my hometown - Guilin. Along Binjiang road, many people do exercise in the morning. Some are dancing, some are singing, some are practicing Tai Chi.

We went to the town Gods temple again and did some shopping. We bought some traditional snacks for our friends.

In the morning of the third day, we went to the railway station. The next city we would visit is Hangzhou.

Everyone is expecting it. A lot of Expo Souvenirs have come onto the market. I think the admission is the thing people pay close attention to. There are several kinds of admission. Some special ones are sold out. It’s so pity. Because there are many people want to go to expo site.

The day before yesterday I saw the admissions that were bought by my colleague Ruby for her clients. She was planning to post them. So I took a picture immediately as a remembrance. The size of the admission is like the name card and it has a cover. There is some information on the cover such as map and the price of all kinds of admissions.

The admission is so cute and I love it. The mascot of Shanghai Expo is “Haibao”, which in Chinese means the treasure of the ocean. It’s designed to resemble the Chinese character for “human”, which corresponds to the theme of the Expo. If I have a free time I will go to Shanghai and visit the expo site. Then I will ask Ruby to buy them for my family and me. Because there is no booking service fee. Are you ready to go?

According to the custom, people start to prepare for the celebration of Lantern Festival to be held on the 14th day of the first Chinese lunar month. Two of the most important things are lanterns and sweet dumplings (called Yuanxiao in Chinese).

“Yuan” literally means first, while “Xiao” refers to night. The Lantern Festival is the first time when we see the full moon in the lunar year. It is traditional festival for family reunion. And the lanterns in various sizes are hung in the trees or somewhere. Besides, the lanterns owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the lanterns in ancient time. If someone knows the solution to riddles, they can pull the paper out and go to the owners to check the answer. If they are right, they can get some small gifts.

In a word, the Lantern Festival is very important for Chinese people.

The maximum magnitude annular eclipse (95%) will be visible in Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Henan and Shandong during a period from about 16:40 to 17:05 local time, while other regions will be able to witness a lesser eclipse, lasting from about 15:00 to 18:00 local time.

According to astronomers, the annular solar eclipse is calculated to be the longest one in the next one thousand years, as an eclipse lasting longer than this one won’t occur until 3043. Astronomers said in a statement that the maximum duration for the annular solar eclipse will be 11 minutes and 8 seconds, beginning at 07:06:33 UT over the Indian Ocean.

It is a rare opportunity for people to observe an annular solar eclipse. To better observe it, people are suggested to make some preparations in advance, like observation spectacles and good cameras.

Dali will be the best place to observe this rare astronomical spectacle.
